Teatro alla Scala / La Scala

Teatro alla Scala is one of prime opera houses in Europe and major tourist attraction in Milan. Built in 1778, as a replacement for another theatre ‘Royal Ducal Theatre’ destroyed by fire in 1776, Teatro alla Scala was initially named as “Nuovo Regio Ducal Teatro alla Scala” . Being a part of a performance at La Scala is one of a lifetime opportunity and that too not to be missed. The season starts on December 7, the day of Saint Ambrose. Operas start early in the evening as it’s obligatory that the show must close down before midnight.
